- National Companies of pesticide were estimated only have 40% of market share or about IDR 2,24 billion from total sales around IDR 6 billion. The rest is owned Multinational Companies.
- National pesticide products are trying to surpass of the total sales more than 40% in order to compete with Multinational Pesticide Companies (Chief Association of Indonesian Pesticide Community).

- Based on Central Bureau (BPS) 2012, Pesticide Multinational Companies have 64% share of market from total market IDR 5,7 billion.
- The highest segment of this market come from using in rice crops (41%) and palm oil plantation (27%). Pesticide market is dominated by herbicide products (42,5%), insecticide (37,5%), fungicide (18%) and others 2%.

- PT DuPont Agriculture Products Indonesia claimed has 10% share of pesticide market in Indonesia that achieved about US$400-US$500 million per year.
- President Director DuPont Hadi Santoso said pesticide players in Indonesia are quite numerous, but only 8 of them are big scale players, included DuPont.
- That American company produced insecticide, herbicide, and fungicide
- DuPont has 4 plants in Indonesia that located in Karawang, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, and Malang.

- In regard to industry structure, pesticide market is dominated by Multinational Companies (MNC) that incorporated namely Crop Life Organization, its members is Syngenta, Bayer, Nufarm, BASF, Dow Agroscience, FMC, and Dupont
- And National Companies (NC) that joined in National Pesticide Entrepreneur Association (HMPN) that has members more than 35 companies.
- If looked on development of declining of GDP growth rate, it seemed didn’t give any effect to pesticide industry growth rate in general.
- Pesticide market kept growing, because agriculture sector is vital sector as long as peoples live and eat. Only, the competition in this market will be very strong, stronger one will eat the weaker.
- The stronger companies will take bigger market share and survive compare to the weaker. The interesting thing is survival competition happened to the same National Companies (NC).
